谢道昕实验室长期致力于激素感知机制及其调控植物生长发育和防御反应的分子机制的研究。率先阐明了茉莉素和独脚金内酯两类重要植物激素的受体识别机制，系统研究了茉莉素调控植物育性和抗性的信号传导机制，并首次揭示了新型的“底物-酶-活性分子-受体”不可逆识别机制。
